Stephens Memorial Hospital has 2 PRN openings for our 24 hour Admissions department.

PRN/Pool employees at Stephens Memorial Hospital work on an as needed basis,covering for other staff as they are out on sick, vacation or other leave. PRN employees are eligible for night and weekend premium pay.

SHIFT: Rotating/ Night/ Day/ Weekend. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.

Day shift: 7 am to 7 pm
Night shift: 7 pm to 7 am

Position Summary: Responsible for assigning ED patient numbers, getting consents signed, updating patient information, verifying insurance and other duties assigned by the Business Office.

Essential Duties:
1.Follow all policies and procedures set forth by the Hospital.

2.Develop and maintain knowledge of all rules and guidelines that are needed to properly and professionally complete my job duties.

3.Issue patient numbers according to Bedside Triage Policy.

4.Get consents signed and double check that the consents are signed.

5.Updated all patient information and verify insurance.

6.Add Observation hours to Inpatient stays.

7.Complete Census at the proper time.

8.Edit all ED visits’

9.Re-edit all ED visits,

10.Work all reports assigned by Business Office.

11.Complete all paperwork on ED and Medicare patients such as Patient Bill of Rights, Medicare Questionnaire, Medicare Discharge papers.

12.Complete all accident information for workman comp and return to the proper personal.

13.Complete all accident information in the stay tab and the Medicare Questionnaire.

14.Scan all paperwork that needs to be scanned for medical records.

15.Work the Medicaid note book every 45 to 60 days.

16.Collect Co-pay and Co-insurance when possible after the patient is discharged.

17.Covering odd shifts as co-workers are on vacation have illness or doctor’s appointments

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate with previous experience preferred.
- Clerical experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills

Duties, Responsibilities and Skills:

Reports directly to Admissions Supervisor.
